Byron Gallagher Byron joined the fitness industry in 1994, working part time for 6 years whilst pursuing a real-estate career. At the end of 1999, he travelled for 2 years throughout Europe and whilst working part time in Northern England in a boutique gymnasium, decided that fitness was the vocation that he was most passionate about and after returning to Australia began working fulltime as a personal trainer. Byron worked in many large chain gyms over the next 6 years and decided to team up with a fellow trainer, Ben and open their own studio. Byron's history has always involved fitness. Playing junior football and basketball for close to 15 years, including coaching for 3 years. Byron also competed in athletics and cross country running and had great success whilst running for Old Paradians. However, his true love was Martial Arts. Byron began training in Karate aged 14 with Bob Jones and rapidly progressed through the ranks achieving his current rank of full Nidan (second degree Black) in 1999. Byron also trained in other styles, specialising in BJC Muay Thai, which took him to Thailand several times, achieving the highest rank of Trainer in1998. Byron competed in the full contact arena in both Karate and Muay Thai for 10 years, capturing both amateur and professional titles including 2 south pacific belts. Byron has taught in excess of 8000 group exercise classes ranging from cycle to boxing to circuits and prides himself on providing safe, effective yet tough challenges in all of them. Recently, Byron has competed in several natural (drug free) physique competitions with the INBA and ANB and in 2009 captured the 'Victorian Intermediate Open Weight Class' title, putting his expertise of precision nutrition and training methods to the ultimate.
